The story
In Pforzheim, on Weiherstraße, Manfred Hoppe and his wife run a restaurant that sets out to deliver “culinary joy, hospitality, and beautiful memories.” The welcome on their home page is personal and direct: “Liebe Gourmets und Feinschmecker” — dear gourmets and connoisseurs. The promise is one of dedicated service, excellent cooking, and a setting that feels both comfortable and refined.
The dining room is fully air-conditioned, with outdoor seating available when the weather allows. The service team, led by the Hoppe family, works with what the team calls “idealism, diligence, and love for the art of cooking.” The atmosphere is described as “geschmackvolles Ambiente” — tasteful surroundings that support the meal without distracting from it.
The kitchen draws on Alsatian and French traditions, bringing a regional touch to the plate. The home page highlights a featured dish: Rostbraten vom Rinderrücken, roast beef from the loin, prepared with care. The cooking is precise, seasonal, and rooted in the flavors of the border region between Germany and France.
This commitment to quality has earned Hoppe’s a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026 — a recognition of consistent, thoughtful cooking that respects both tradition and the guest’s experience.
