The story
At the Öschberghof resort in Donaueschingen, Ösch Noir has earned its place among the world’s finest restaurants. Since receiving its first Michelin star in 2020 and a second the following year, the restaurant has consistently confirmed its two-star status, most recently in the 2025 guide. This recognition places it among the top 50 restaurants in Germany.
Head chef Manuel Ulrich and his team craft a cuisine rooted in excellent French cooking, brought forward with modern influences. Guests choose between two tasting journeys: the MENÜ NOIR and the vegetarian MENÜ VERT. For those new to fine dining, a smaller four-course Petit Noir menu is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, offering a curated selection of the signature dishes with a wine pairing included.
The dining room interprets the Black Forest in a contemporary key – clean lines, interplay of light and shadow, and round tables for up to four guests. Curtains of glass beads create subtle light effects reminiscent of morning dew, lending the space a calm, luxurious feel.
Sommelier and restaurant manager Michael Häni oversees a wine list of around 3,500 national and international labels. His pairings are carefully selected to complement each course, drawing on deep relationships with winemakers and a passion for sparkling wines, champagne, and still wines from diverse terroirs.
