The story
Since 2005, La Parolina has been the third child of Iside and Romano — born after their two children, Azzurra and Giacomo. The restaurant in Trevinano, a tiny hamlet above Acquapendente, is their way of merging the art of cooking with the warmth of welcoming friends. “The sense of family is what distinguishes our cuisine and hospitality,” they explain.
The road to this spot was accidental. They arrived in 2005, and in 2012 moved to a new location with a sweeping view of the valley. Surrounded by dirt roads, woods, porcupines, roe deer, and wild boar, the setting feels untouched. That rawness is what they fell in love with, and it defines their cooking.
La Parolina’s kitchen is a contemporary take on Country Cooking. The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on the ingredients of Tuscia — the historic region of northern Lazio. Two tasting paths are offered: “Tuscia nel piatto” (three glasses of wine, water, and coffee for €150) and “Emozioni” (five glasses, water, and coffee for €225). Both are designed to tell the story of the land through the plate.
The Michelin Guide awarded a star for “high quality cooking,” recognizing the precision and soul in Iside and Romano’s work. The restaurant is a place where guests return — not just for the food, but for the feeling of being part of the family.
The hospitality extends beyond the dining room. The Locanda “La Letterina” bed & breakfast lets guests linger, completing the experience of this remote corner of Lazio. Whether you come for lunch, dinner, or a private event, La Parolina offers a Modern Cuisine that feels deeply personal and rooted in place.
