The story
On the quiet shore of Lake Garda, in the hamlet of Castelletto di Brenzone, Alla Fassa has been a family affair since 1988. The Veronesi family runs both the restaurant and the adjoining locanda, where rooms open directly onto the water. The setting is unhurried: a wide veranda, a garden, a private dock, and a terrace that makes the most of the lake views. The restaurant’s Michelin Recommended status reflects a kitchen that works with fresh, seasonal ingredients, balancing tradition with contemporary creativity — a style the restaurant calls Italian Contemporary, with seafood playing a leading role.
The menu changes with the seasons and the availability of ingredients, a practice that also helps reduce waste. The kitchen celebrates the territory of Lake Garda, turning local catch and garden produce into dishes that feel both rooted and modern. On the terrace, aperitifs and classic drinks are served alongside a selection of over 150 gins — a detail that speaks to the care put into every part of the experience. The digital menu, introduced in 2020, allows the restaurant to update offerings frequently without printing, a choice that saves a significant amount of paper each year.
Alla Fassa’s commitment to the environment is woven into its daily operations. Solar panels and heat pumps were installed during a 2015 renovation, and an electric vehicle charging station is available for guests. The restaurant’s approach to sustainability is not loud but consistent: it shows in the use of renewable energy, the paperless menu, and the respect for ingredients that come from the surrounding land and lake. For diners, this translates into a meal that feels honest, set against a backdrop of water and sky — a place where the pace slows, and the food speaks for itself.
