The story
Just across the border from Como, in the Swiss village of Castel San Pietro, Osteria Enoteca Cuntitt brings a refined voice to Italian contemporary cooking. Chef Federico Palladino, who took the reins in 2020, earned a Michelin star in 2023 – a recognition that, together with 16 points from Gault&Millau and the title of “Scalata dell’anno,” places him among Switzerland’s most promising chefs.
“Cooking is experimentation, passion and love,” says Palladino. His approach balances instinct and rigour: essential ingredients, carefully sourced, become the centre of a contemporary narrative. Each dish pursues equilibrium, intensity and clarity. The result is a cuisine that surprises without losing direction.
Two tasting paths guide the experience. The Menu Essenza offers five courses (118 CHF), while the Menu Signature extends to seven (148 CHF). À la carte options include starters like lightly marinated Bremgarten char with carrot, mango and wasabi, and first courses such as fresh pasta bottoni stuffed with crab, peas and finger lime. Main courses feature Glacier 51 fish with black kale, or a saddle and shoulder of venison with sweet potato, date and spices. A dedicated caviar selection from Bianchi adds a luxurious touch.
True to its name, the enoteca is a destination in itself. The curated wine list complements the seasonal Italian contemporary cuisine, and the team’s enthusiasm for pairing is evident in every recommendation.
In 2025, Palladino’s cooking reached the skies: from June to September, his creations accompanied SWISS First, Business and Premium Economy passengers as part of the “Taste of Switzerland” programme – a testament to the kitchen’s ability to translate Ticino’s flavours into a sensorial journey, even at 30,000 feet.
Osteria Enoteca Cuntitt is a place where precise technique, deep respect for ingredients and a warm, professional welcome converge. It is a destination for those who seek Italian contemporary cooking at its most honest and accomplished.
