The story
Stella d’Italia opened in 1875 as a post house for horse changes with an inn attached. Located in the center of Pastrengo, between Verona and Lake Garda, it has been run by the Segattini family for over sixty years. The restaurant’s commitment to authentic, regional cuisine has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction.
The menu is rooted in country cooking, with classic regional recipes, fresh pasta, freshwater fish, and selected meats. A particular specialty is snails, which have become a signature dish. Seasonal proposals keep the offering dynamic, and the kitchen also accommodates dietary needs. The cantina offers a wide selection of wines, and staff are happy to suggest pairings.
The interior is elegant and warm, with well-spaced tables and careful mise en place. In good weather, the terrace offers views of Lake Garda, and intimate gazebos are available for summer evenings. Owner Umberto Segattini welcomes guests with professionalism and a sense of home, ensuring a convivial meal with impeccable service. The restaurant also features the Sala Pastrengo, dedicated to the historic battle of 1848.
An attached B&B allows guests to extend their stay. Whether for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a special occasion, Stella d’Italia delivers a genuine taste of the Veneto countryside.
