The story
In the summer of 2020, four siblings – Chiara Eva, Roberto, Raffaele, and Riccardo – took over Osteria dello Strecciolo, turning a shared dream into a restaurant rooted in the Lombard countryside. Each brings a distinct background: Roberto and Riccardo honed their skills in some of Italy’s finest kitchens, while Chiara Eva and Raffaele ensure the dining room is as warm and attentive as the cooking.
The kitchen centres on the encounter with flavours of tradition – simple, honest, and reliant on exceptional raw ingredients. As the team puts it, creativity is simply a way to make beautiful what is already good. The result is Italian Contemporary cuisine that respects the past while looking forward. The menu changes with the market, but signatures include a classic veal cutlet alla milanese, plin stuffed with three roasts and their jus, and a delicate risotto with zucchini flowers, luganega sausage, and goat cheese. A tasting menu, Antologia, offers a seven-course journey through the season’s best. For weekday lunches, a concise business menu makes the kitchen’s care accessible.
Osteria dello Strecciolo has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to the precision and heart behind every plate. The wine cellar, curated to match the kitchen’s ambition, and the welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere make it a destination worth seeking out in Robbiate, just north of Milan.
