The story
At Da Bob Cook Fish, seafood is a direct line from the Gulf of Naples to your plate. The restaurant’s circular economy model begins with its own boats, which bring the day’s catch to the partner fish shop Ge.Ro.Sa., then to the kitchen. Executive chef Francesco Sardegna and his team work with the freshest local seafood, transforming it into dishes that respect tradition while showing a creative hand.
The restaurant opened on 27 October 2022, the result of a partnership between Angelo Celentano, Franco Apreda, and Eugenio Gargiulo, who brought experience from Sorrento’s Bagni Sant’Anna and Tasso. The setting is a lively, 60-seat space in the heart of Sorrento, at Largo Parsano Vecchio, just off the main corso. The atmosphere is warm and familial, with a décor that echoes the sea.
The menu changes with the seasons and the catch, but highlights include an octopus salad, stockfish with potatoes, peppers, and oven-baked black olives, and a classic shrimp cocktail with pink sauce. For something more substantial, there is a salmon sandwich with spinach, cherry tomatoes, and stracciatella. Takeaway options feature marinated anchovies, stuffed anchovies with provola and rosemary, and violet shrimp with Sorrento-style treccia cheese, cherry tomatoes, and black olives.
Da Bob also houses a bakery, adding another layer to its offering. The restaurant is open for lunch (12:00–15:00) and dinner (18:00–22:00), closed on Tuesdays.
Da Bob Cook Fish’s commitment to quality and sustainability has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. It is a place where the flavours of the Sorrento peninsula are served with integrity, from the sea to the table, without fuss.
