The story
Loxalis occupies the ground floor of the Casino de Dudelange, in the former residence of the Director of ARBED before the First World War. The building is well known to locals, and the setting is striking: vast bay windows blur the line between indoors and out, flooding the elegant 80-seat dining room with light. In spring and summer, a shaded terrace extends the experience into the surrounding greenery.
Chef Angelo Vaccaro founded Loxalis over twelve years ago. His cuisine is driven by a constant search for innovation, working with high-quality local ingredients that follow the seasons. Recently, he brought in Chef Davide Boccolini to bring fresh energy to the kitchen, preserving the restaurant's identity while elevating every dish. Together, they create a Mediterranean cuisine that is both visually striking and deeply satisfying.
The menu changes regularly. The Chef's Signature Menu offers a tasting journey through the season's best. A Lunch Gourmand option is also available, and a dedicated children's menu—with half-portions of rigatoni, bolognese, or breaded chicken escalope—makes the restaurant genuinely family-friendly.
Among the dishes highlighted on the restaurant's own site are a bouchée à la reine with a pan-fried veal sweetbread medallion, served with fries and salad—a traditional Luxembourgish favourite treated with care. Desserts are all house-made: the Chef Davide's tiramisu, a lemon semifreddo, and a café gourmand that brings together several small sweets. The wine list includes a Blanc Auxerrois Remich Golberg Bastian, suggested to accompany the bouchée.
Loxalis earned a Michelin Recommended award for 2026, a testament to the consistency and ambition of the kitchen. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday, with dinner service Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and designed for genuine hospitality—whether for a private party, a family lunch, or a fine dinner.
