The story
Cômo is the story of Renato Favaro and his family. After years in Michelin-starred kitchens, Renato and Bianca, with their children Daniel and Evie, chose to turn the page. They left behind the Ristorante Favaro to open a new chapter in Esch-sur-Alzette. The name Cômo is a nod to the lake where it all began – Lake Como. As the website puts it: a return to origins, to the flavours of the past, to the tastes of where everything started.
The philosophy here is simple: product, precision, taste. In Italian, they say "basta poco, ma buono" – little is enough, but it must be good. The menu offers generous, straightforward recipes rooted in family cooking. Dishes in appearance simple, but carried by technique acquired over a long career. Nothing is done alone: the service in the dining room matches the plate with the same care, in a sincere and warm spirit.
The restaurant occupies a house on Rue des Remparts with a striking façade. Inside, the space has been completely renewed: three salons in a row, in modern grey and black tones, flooded with light. Only an antique Tuscan cabinet remains as a reminder of the restaurant's origins. The result is a contemporary, welcoming atmosphere that lets the food speak.
Cômo’s approach has caught the eye of the Michelin guide, which awarded it a Recommended rating in 2026. It is a testament to the Favaro family’s ability to bring the essence of Italian cuisine to Luxembourg – no frills, just honest, skilled cooking.
