The story
In 2000, Virginie and Denis Laissy opened Bick Stuff on rue de Clausen in Luxembourg. Their idea was simple: create a restaurant where guests feel like extended family, and where every plate is treated with the same care as a meal for loved ones. More than two decades later, that spirit remains the foundation of everything here.
The atmosphere shifts with the light. By day, the dining room is calm and serene. At night, candlelight transforms the space into something more intimate, more romantic. It is a setting that encourages lingering, conversation, and genuine connection.
The kitchen serves what the restaurant calls home cooking – but this is home cooking elevated by precision and seasonal thinking. The menus change regularly, driven by what is fresh. A recent Menu du Marché (€51) opened with last-of-season asparagus and smoked trout rillettes, or a burrata with cherry and tomato tartare. Main courses might include fillet of pollock with courgette purée and a courgette flower beignet, or sliced leg of lamb with beef heart tomato and shallot purée. The Epicurien Menu (€62) offers dishes like a crab remoulade with red berry gel or raw scallops with artichoke and a cold miso broth. Desserts range from an affinage cheese plate to a panna cotta with cherries, hibiscus, and mint.
The care extends beyond the plate. Virginie Laissy is often front of house, attentive and warm. The wine list is priced fairly, and the service is unhurried. Guests have noted the quality of ingredients, the precise cooking, and the thoughtful presentation, particularly on the set menu at €55.
Michelin has recognised Bick Stuff with a Recommended award, a fitting nod to a restaurant that has quietly built a reputation for consistent, heartfelt cooking in Luxembourg. It is a place that rewards repeat visits – and many guests do just that.
