The story
Level Nine sits atop the Grand Hotel in Mġarr, Gozo – a rooftop restaurant and lounge with views over the harbour. The space balances indoor comfort with outdoor seating, making it a place for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. The dress code is smart casual, and the atmosphere is relaxed but polished.
The kitchen focuses on Contemporary Mediterranean cooking, drawing on local ingredients where possible. A five-course tasting menu leads with an open egg, avocado, pancetta dish, followed by a spinach and mushroom ‘girasola’ with garlic, Parmesan and sobacha. Fish of the day appears with Gozo asparagus, jalapeño, capers, and a beurre noisette sauce. Pork belly is paired with endive, apple and a sauce diable, and the meal closes with milk, honey, olive oil and sea salt. A seven-course tasting menu and à la carte options are also available. Wine pairing is offered at €55.
Level Nine’s precise, ingredient-driven approach has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction – a mark of its place among Gozo’s most notable dining rooms.
