The story
Cocina del Mar is a restaurant, bar and lounge perched on a rocky promontory overlooking Esperanza’s two private beaches in Cabo San Lucas. The setting is dramatic: a buzzing lantern-lit bar leads to oceanfront terraces where white-capped waves crash below. The mood is romantic and celebratory, with live music Thursday through Sunday.
At the heart of the experience is an outdoor exhibition kitchen centered on a glowing wood-fired oven. Here, chefs prepare coastal Baja cuisine that lets vibrant natural flavors shine. The menu highlights just-caught seafood: charred octopus, grilled grouper in a raw-ripe tomato sauce, and lobster fettuccine. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the bar open until 11 pm.
Cocina del Mar has been voted Best Restaurant in Cabo five years in a row and holds a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, reflecting its commitment to regionally inspired cocktails and a curated wine list that complements the Baja menu.
