In Colonia Condesa, Jowong brings Korean cooking to Mexico City with confidence and a light touch. The restaurant earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026, a recognition for good quality and good value cooking that suits the place well. It is a casual, air-conditioned spot where the menu moves from small ban-chan to shareable plates and a full Korean barbecue feast.

The meal starts with ban-chan: crushed cucumbers, eggplant, cabbage kimchi, and myeolchi with potato. From there, salads like the Korean Caesar—yuza, lettuce, seaweed, parmesan—and hobak with squash, doenjang, pine nuts, and marjoram set the tone. Small plates include a salmon crudo with confit tomato, cucumber, jícama, and chogochujang, and crispy esquites with stracciatella, cotija, and Sichuan pepper.

For sharing, the menu turns to dishes that blend Korean staples with local ingredients. Tteok-bokki verde pairs rice cakes with pesto, asparagus, fava beans, kale, and panko. Kimchi carbonara adds tomato, parmesan, bacon, and egg. The arroz gimbap wraps rice in seaweed with turnip, perilla, spinach, roasted mushrooms, and egg. Cold naengmyeon noodles arrive in a chilled broth with sea scallop and arugula salad. Fried chicken comes with pineapple gochujang and a tomato-watermelon salad. Grilled pork belly is served with rainbow chard, donkatsu sauce, and spicy mustard. Mussels are bathed in a butter gochujang sauce with bacon and cilantro.

The Festín Coreano is the centerpiece: 650 grams of prime ribeye Korean barbecue style, plus bulgogi, shishitos, banchan, lettuce, jjangachi, confit garlic, kimchi soup, and rice. Desserts include ho-tteok with honey sauce, nuts, and hazelnut butter ice cream; a rice panna cotta with rhubarb sorbet and omija tea; and honey butter chips with ice cream.

Jowong also serves lunch on Sundays and a full cocktail list—think soju, sake, and mezcal drinks—plus mocktails like yuzu honey soda and piñón horchata. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 2 pm to 10 pm, and Sunday for lunch from 12 pm to 5:30 pm.
