The story
In Amsterdam Oost, Alba focuses on what matters: beautiful flavor combinations from changing seasonal produce. The kitchen works with a menu that shifts with the market, offering a 3- or 4-course selection or a surprise Chef's menu. Every dish is also available à la carte, giving diners flexibility. The wine list leans toward natural wines, made with minimal intervention, and is available by the glass or bottle.
The setting is equally appealing. The restaurant boasts a giant terrace that catches sun from early morning until late evening—ideal for long, lazy meals. Inside, the space accommodates everything from intimate dinners for two to group gatherings, with high tables for a casual glass of wine. When booking, you choose between terrace or indoor seating, though the restaurant cannot guarantee a spot inside if you book outside, and vice versa.
Alba’s cooking earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition for good quality, good value cooking. It’s a fitting nod to a restaurant that delivers thoughtful, ingredient-driven food without pretense. Note that the menu is not suitable for vegans, but the team is happy to accommodate allergies if informed in advance.
