The story
Raedthuys has been a familiar name in Doetinchem and the wider Achterhoek region for more than two decades. Since 2019, this restaurant on the Raadhuisstraat has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand – an award that rewards good quality cooking at a reasonable price. The recognition fits naturally with the kitchen’s philosophy: everything is made from scratch using only day-fresh products. From the bread that starts the meal to the small treats that accompany coffee, the kitchen team prepares each element in-house.
The menu is built around seasonal ingredients, with a clear farm-to-table approach. Classics & Specials form the backbone of the offering, supplemented by a Bib Gourmand menu, a lunch & borrel selection, and a children’s menu. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, guests can enjoy a three-course Share Menu for €45 per person. Sundays bring a Lazy Sunday five-course Signature Bites-Amuse Menu for €40 per person – a relaxed way to end the week. Desserts include a house crème brûlée, a chocolate dessert, and a cheese selection.
Raedthuys describes itself as an “Eterij & Tapperij” – a place for both eating and drinking. The setting is casual and welcoming, with outdoor seating available when the weather cooperates. The team is happy to suggest a matching wine or a good glass of beer with your meal. Whether you come for a weekday dinner or a leisurely Sunday afternoon, the focus stays on fresh, honest cooking that has earned its place on the Bib Gourmand list.
