The story
At Emmaplein 10 in Bilthoven, NORRA brings a Scandinavian name and a French soul to the table. The name means “the North” in Scandinavian, a nod to the team’s previous bistro Le Nord and to chef Grégory Nicole’s roots. The result is a modern restaurant where casual fine dining meets laid-back hospitality.
In the kitchen, patron cuisinier Grégory Nicole works alongside souschef Mats Blankestein. Together they build dishes that are creative yet accessible – always grounded in good products and craftsmanship. NORRA is a family affair: Grégory commands the kitchen while Lieke runs the front of house, sharing a vision of a restaurant where taste, atmosphere, and attention all align.
The menu is the same for lunch and dinner – because, as the team puts it, good food doesn’t need a special moment to shine. Choose from the concise Menu 3, an extensive à la carte selection, or a 4- to 7-course menu. Vegetarians are fully accommodated with menus that receive the same balance and care. A business lunch known as the Powerlunch delivers two courses within an hour, making NORRA a favourite spot for efficient yet impressive professional meetings in southern Utrecht.
The wine list mixes classic with adventurous – the team is happy to advise or simply pour what you fancy. Dietary requirements can be handled if communicated in advance; vegan menus are not available, but vegetarian options always are.
NORRA’s recognition in the Michelin Guide reflects its consistent delivery of refined French cuisine in a relaxed setting. Occasional evenings like Club NORRA give the restaurant a different energy entirely. Whether you come for a working lunch or a leisurely dinner, the pace is set together.
NORRA. Eten. Beleven. Genieten.
