The story
Chef Josh Boutwood’s Helm is an intimate, 24-seat restaurant in Makati’s Ayala Triangle Gardens. The space is minimal, defined by black, copper, and grey – a quiet stage for the evening’s performance.
Boutwood’s menu is his own expression: a distillation of his life experiences and culinary training. He describes it as “his love of ingredients and his global perspectives of gastronomy.” That tasting menu changes continually, and the dining room is designed for interaction. Guests watch the kitchen at work, and the line between table and pass is deliberately thin. “Dining becomes theater, an interactive form of culinary performance art,” the restaurant says.
That commitment to precision and personal vision earned Helm a Michelin 2 Star award in 2026, a recognition of excellent cooking on a global stage. The small size – just 24 seats – means every reservation is a focused, one-on-one encounter with the chef’s craft.
Helm is open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner. The address is The Shops at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Tower 2, 3rd floor, Makati City.
