The story
In the heart of Makati City, within the polished arcades of Greenbelt 5, Lusso (Legazpi) stakes its claim as a destination for European dining of a particularly luxurious bent. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended award for 2026, a recognition that aligns with its unabashed celebration of indulgence.
The menu reads like a catalogue of the finest ingredients. Black truffles appear with relentless confidence—shaved over fettuccine, folded into a creamy omelette, even piled onto luxe fries with truffle cream. A section devoted to truffle specials offers spinach taglierini with asiago and Parma ham, and a fettuccine al tartufo finished with Italian butter and black truffle jus. For those who want more, additional truffle can be added per gram.
Foie gras is another pillar. It arrives brûléed on white toast points, seared on toasted brioche with candied mostarda di frutta, or stacked into a demi-pound burger with U.S. beef and Cambozola cheese. Caviar is presented with ceremony: a full set with toast points, blinis, crème fraîche, and organic eggs, or simply draped over barquillos cylinders with chive mousse.
Smaller plates show equal ambition. A tuna and foie gras carpaccio is finished with Maldon sea salt and chives. Salmon tartare comes with a spinach gnocco. The deviled egg duet, topped with prosciutto crisps and salmon roe, is a precise, elegant bite.
The European cuisine here is not defined by a single region but by a philosophy of sourcing the best and treating it with respect. From a lobster and river prawn roll to a roast lambwich with strawberry jam on sourdough, the cooking is direct and ingredient-driven.
Lusso’s atmosphere matches the food—refined, with air conditioning and outdoor seating available. It is a place for lunch or dinner where the meal itself is the event. The Michelin nod simply confirms what the menu already promises: this is serious cooking, unapologetically rich.
