The story
Txanton opened in Makati City as the country’s first dedicated jamoneria – a place built around the art of jamón iberico. More than a restaurant, it is a hub for importing, distributing, and retailing fine wines, premium foods, and exclusive accessories. The space itself, on the second floor of the Alegria Alta Building along Chino Roces Avenue, combines a premium shop with a Spanish restaurant and wine bar, making it an ideal venue to learn about and savour jamón iberico.
The team at Txanton believes that wine is the perfect match for jamón. Their wine programme is extensive, with a cellar that spans Spanish classics like Rioja and Priorat, as well as Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Italian labels. Regular wine events – masterclasses, dinners, and tastings – bring producers such as Vega Sicilia, Haut-Brion, and Pol Roger to Manila. The restaurant also offers a caviar bar, a bistro, and a dedicated “La Carne” section, all designed to complement the wine list.
In 2026, Txanton received a Michelin Recommended nod, a testament to its commitment to quality and authenticity in Spanish cuisine. The award places it among the best dining destinations in the Philippines, recognising not just the food but the entire experience – from the carefully sourced jamón to the knowledgeable service and the inviting, sophisticated atmosphere.
Whether you come for a glass of sherry and a plate of 75% Iberico de Bellota, or to browse the gourmet shop for truffle products, olive oils, and gift boxes, Txanton offers a genuine taste of Spain in the heart of Makati.
