The story
Aurora, named after the mother of partner Atty. Nilo Divina, is a spirited bistro that turns the warmth of Asian home cooking into something polished and shareable. The space, inside Pacific Star Building in Makati, balances an upbeat dining floor with an outdoor patio, a wall of wine, a private room, and a bar—equally suited for corporate catch-ups, dates, or evenings out with friends.
The menu draws on the chefs' Asian-leaning backgrounds, offering contemporary takes on regional classics. Think Taiwanese braises cooked low and slow, a Japanese donburi creatively reworked, and Malay sauces, condiments, and marinades that anchor the dishes. The kitchen keeps ingredients local and lets the flavors speak clearly—each plate served simply, with minimal garnish.
Media reviews highlight the salmon donburi, dotted with ikura and set on shiitake sushi rice, as “magical.” A kaya toast cookie and a peanut butter and jelly cheesecake show the dessert side. F&B Report calls the restaurant “a confident statement of expression and evolution,” while Metro Style notes that “the food didn’t just talk, it sang.”
Aurora earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, with the guide recognizing its classically rooted Asian cooking and the care poured into every plate. The accolade sits naturally alongside the restaurant’s own philosophy: meals are meant to be shared, and everyone is invited.
Whether you come for the Taiwanese braise or the salmon donburi, Aurora delivers familiar, robust Asian flavors with polish—and makes you feel at home.
