The story
At Opus Mall in Quezon City, Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar Prime brings a vision decades in the making to life. Restaurateur Peter Zwiener—the father of the Prime dining concept—created this trattoria and wine bar as a tribute to his late father, Wolfgang Zwiener. Named “The Little Wolf,” Il Lupino is the first of its kind in the Philippines and the third in the world, where Italian tradition meets prime quality.
Behind the kitchen is Chef Alessio Loddo, a Sardinian chef known for launching and operating premier dining establishments. Together with Zwiener, he crafts a menu that balances tradition with contemporary innovation. The kitchen turns out housemade pizzas and pastas, alongside USDA Prime Meat prepared in true Italian fashion. Artisanal cold cuts, sourced with care, round out the kitchen’s offerings.
The restaurant’s wine program earned a 2025 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, reflecting over 200 labels sourced from esteemed Italian vineyards and beyond. Whether you lean toward a classic Chianti or a New World discovery, the curated list is designed to complement the food. The bright bar area invites guests to enjoy a glass or a cocktail before moving into the main dining room, where thoughtful lighting and comfortable seating create a space that is both upscale and welcoming.
Italian-inspired décor with contemporary touches makes Il Lupino suitable for any occasion, from private parties to lunch and dinner. Outdoor seating is available, and the team regularly hosts special events like Cucina e Vino, pairing refined Italian dishes with selections from Argentine wineries such as Boca Juan Filipinas. With its warm, elegant design and a kitchen that respects both tradition and prime ingredients, Il Lupino Prime offers a distinct take on Italian dining in the metro.
