The story
Since 2019, Oberża 86 has established itself as a leading restaurant in Gdynia, earning a Michelin recommendation for its refined approach to seasonal, French-inspired cuisine. The restaurant’s philosophy is rooted in an original pairing of a carefully curated wine selection with the art of Polish-French cooking.
Housed in the historic Domek Abrahama, the atmosphere is intimate and elegant. The kitchen operates until 22:00, but the evening continues with a late-night service focused on premium spirits and digestifs, perfect for lingering conversations.
The menu is a showcase of both Polish and French culinary traditions. Starters include a delicate matjas – virgin herring marinated in horseradish vodka with beetroot and brie mousse, or a rich smoked blood sausage with porcini mushrooms in puff pastry. For mains, options range from Polish pike-perch fillet on potato dumplings with cider sauce to a gamey venison saddle with dumplings, oyster mushrooms, and sea buckthorn sauce. A standout is the duck heart flambéed with cognac, served with walnuts, apple, and dried plum. A dedicated vegetarian risotto with truffle mousse and fresh black truffle is also available.
The wine list is a point of pride, featuring niche and natural wines from regions like Languedoc, Loire Valley, and New Zealand. The team offers expert pairing, including a romantic dinner for two with paired wines, making it an ideal destination for both connoisseurs and those new to wine exploration.
