The story

Marino Bistrot | Authentic Italian Dining in Poznań, Poland

A Family's Italian Legacy in the Heart of Jeżyce

Marino Bistrot brings genuine Italian cuisine to Poznań's Jeżyce district. The restaurant was born from the passion and hard work of four people, each contributing their own knowledge and experience to create a special place on the city's gastronomic map.

The story runs deep. In the late 1940s, Nicola Marino moved from southern Italy to Savona, a Ligurian city on the Mediterranean. He first worked in an ice cream parlor, baking some of the city's first pizzas, and there he met Anna, his future wife. In 1956, they opened the restaurant "Da Nicola," a magical place where they cooked, welcomed, and met hundreds of people. Anna's passion for cooking matched Nicola's love for art, as he covered the tables with tasty, beautiful dishes and the walls with ceramics and paintings from artists who traded their work for a meal.

Now, one of their children has brought that tradition, that taste, and that love for people and cooking to Poland. The kitchen offers traditional Italian cuisine in a new, refreshed edition, using original products from family-run Italian businesses as well as regional ones. The chefs often walk through the dining rooms to check if everything tasted good, making the experience personal and engaging.

Marino Bistrot's recognition with a Michelin Recommended award reflects the quality and authenticity of this family's enduring culinary vision, now rooted in Poznań.

Interior and Atmosphere The small restaurant in Jeżyce is simply furnished in the style of an Italian trattoria. The owner, Livio Marino, runs it together with his son. Cuisine and Chef As one might expect, the cuisine is Italian. On the menu, you should pay attention to creatively prepared seafood, including octopus and mussels; lobster is also served occasionally. A good choice is the truffle carbonara (served directly at your table by the head chef himself), or squid with basil pesto, or cuttlefish and lobster risotto. It's worth finishing the meal with classic tiramisu and a glass of limoncello. Among the many restaurants in Poznań, Marino Bistrot stands out for its excellent cuisine at reasonable prices, pleasant service, and wonderful atmosphere. Service and Occasions This place is for everyone – it works just as well for a business lunch as for a family gathering.
