The story
In Warsaw's Praga district, inside the restored Koneser Vodka Factory, Koneser Grill is a place built around a single, untamed element: live fire. The open kitchen lets you see the flames, feel their heat, and watch as the chef works to tame the unpredictability of the hearth. The fire is built slowly, lit in the morning and reaching its full, giving strength by evening. Only Polish seasoned oak and alder wood are used for grilling, and the cooking is based on classic techniques of smoke, grilling, and curing.
The menu changes daily, but the focus is clear. Starters might include a smoked burrata with roasted leek and nut pesto, or a beef tartare with mushrooms and bottarga. The grill section is the heart of the experience, offering a range of steaks from Poland and beyond: a 28-day dry-aged rib eye from a Polish heifer, a 45-day club steak, or a 150-day dry-aged chuleta from a retired dairy cow. For those seeking something different, there is Wagyu from Australia and Japan, as well as duck breast with crushed kohlrabi and truffle jus, and fjord trout with smoked herring roe. The wine list, created with importer Vini e Affini, focuses on biodynamic, organic, and natural wines from small and medium producers.
The restaurant occupies the renovated interiors of the former vodka factory, with preserved original brick walls and historical cast-iron pillars. A private room is available for groups of up to twenty people. In 2026, Koneser Grill was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition of its good quality, good value cooking that matches the restaurant's own philosophy of serving food in a friendly, homely atmosphere.
