The story

MEZE Warsaw: Modern Greek Dining with a Touch of Kefi

The kitchen and its philosophy

MEZE in Warsaw delivers modern Greek cooking to the Śródmieście district through a carefully structured tasting experience. Chef Teo Vafidis established the restaurant after becoming the primary Polish representative of the Club of Chefs of Greece. He organized the menu around food sharing, borrowing the traditional term mezedes to describe the warm and cold appetizers meant for communal tables. This layout encourages kefi, a relaxed dining mindset that transforms routine meals into shared celebrations.

Shared plates and coastal flavors

The menu unfolds across cold and hot starters, salads, soups, and grilled seafood. Guests frequently return for melidzanosalata, a roasted eggplant spread finished with aromatic herbs, and graviera kritis saganaki, which arrives sizzling alongside crushed olives. Heavier choices like traditional musaka sit comfortably beside souvlaki, bifteki, and whole grilled tsipura.

Light-filled rooms and familiar comfort

Recognized by Gault&Millau for its balanced design, the dining space combines spaciousness with quiet intimacy. Large windows flood the room with daylight while pale walls and subtle blue accents keep the mood relaxed. Wooden tables and soft velvet chairs provide steady seating, and potted plants alongside handmade ceramic pieces add texture to the floor plan. Teo keeps the service deliberately warm, ensuring visitors feel as though they have stepped onto a quiet Greek afternoon.
