The story
Muzealna is the younger sister of the award-winning Alewino, located on the lower level of the main building of the National Museum in Warsaw. The restaurant offers a world-class gastronomic experience in interiors filled with Polish design and art, blending nostalgia for the museum’s original era with contemporary work by young Polish designers.
The menu, created by chef Przemysław Suska, is built around local, seasonal products. It features bold, original interpretations of well-known Polish dishes, as well as an unobvious approach to seasonal ingredients. The wine list, curated by sommelier Damian Zakrzewski, focuses on bottles from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, with most labels coming from low-intervention, environmentally conscious producers.
The restaurant’s recognition from the Michelin guide reflects the quality of its kitchen and the thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach that defines the dining experience. Dishes such as the beef tartare with capers, marinated chanterelles, and sous-vide egg yolk, or the Baltic herring with fennel and celery, showcase the kitchen’s precision and respect for local produce. Heartier options include the lamb loin with campfire potatoes and green beans, and the veal schnitzel with mashed potatoes and butter sauce.
The interior, filled with Polish design, provides a setting that is both elegant and welcoming, making it a destination for those seeking a refined meal in the heart of Warsaw. The restaurant also offers a children’s menu and high chairs, ensuring it is accessible to families.
