The story

Źródło Warsaw: Michelin-Recommended Polish Dining in Praga

The Source of Inspiration

In the heart of Warsaw’s Praga district, a few steps from the Wileńska metro station, Źródło brings together good food, good wine, and good music. The name means “source” in Polish, and the team inflects it through every grammatical case – a playful nod to the idea that inspiration flows from tradition, lightness, and a sensitivity to the rhythm of nature. The spacious, green interior and friendly music create an atmosphere that brightens every moment, whether you’re seated at the counter or at a table.

A Menu Rooted in Polish Tradition

Źródło’s kitchen draws deeply on Polish culinary heritage, reimagining classic flavours with freshness and precision. The menu changes with the seasons, but signature dishes include beef tartare with marinated mushrooms, honey, and orange; whole crayfish with garlic emulsion and dill; and Puławska pork with cabbage, caraway, and roasted potatoes. Vegetarians are well served with options like beetroot with goat cheese, truffle, and pecan nuts, or parsnip with topinambur, almond, and lemon. For dessert, a chocolate block with pistachios and spicy cherries nods to a beloved Polish sweet.

Natural Wines and Craft Drinks

The wine list focuses on Polish producers alongside classic, natural, biodynamic, and vegan bottles from unexpected corners of the world. Reasonable prices make it easy to explore – the team also offers craft beers and ciders. The drink selection is as thoughtful as the food, with an emphasis on lightness and character.

Recognition and Atmosphere

Źródło’s commitment to quality earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a testament to its honest, ingredient-driven cooking. The restaurant offers counter dining and delivery, making it both a neighbourhood spot and a destination for those seeking genuine Polish cuisine in a relaxed setting. Reservations are generally for two hours, but guests are welcome to linger longer – just call ahead.

Interior and Atmosphere A cozy, soulful bistro located in Warsaw’s Praga Północ district. Bright interiors, plenty of greenery, simple wooden furniture, high ceilings, wine shelves, art prints, and vibrant orange tiles on the wall opposite the entrance – all of this creates a relaxed vibe and a homely atmosphere. Kitchen and Chef The kitchen at Źródło offers a modern take on Polish tradition – dishes are composed seasonally, using local ingredients, with great sensitivity to nature’s rhythm. The menu features Brussels sprouts with leek and melted cheese, walnuts, and cranberries; a pumpkin brioche with marinated pear, bryndza cheese, and sea buckthorn; and the now-iconic kopytka with browned butter, served alongside six-month-aged Bursztyn cheese. Service and Occasions Friendly and professional staff can competently advise on wine pairings – the restaurant focuses on natural wines, including orange wines. There are also beers and ciders, mostly from Polish producers.
