The story
Przystań & Marina sits on Wyspa Mieszczańska, with wide windows and an outdoor terrace facing the Odra River. The view of Wrocław’s skyline is the backdrop for meals that feel unhurried and deliberate. Opened in 2008, it was the first fine dining restaurant on the island, and it has set a steady course since.
Karol Sankowski leads the kitchen. He trained at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon and worked with top restaurateurs across Poland. In 2017, Gault & Millau named him Chef of the Year for Western Poland. He describes the kitchen as his second home. His cooking mixes precision with playfulness – a fish served with beurre blanc transformed into cold, sparkling snow using liquid nitrogen at minus 197 degrees Celsius.
The cuisine is Mediterranean in spirit, drawing on Polish ingredients and classical technique. Breakfast is served daily, with options like a Polish breakfast of fried egg, bacon, white sausage, and grilled mushrooms, or a truffle scrambled egg for two. The main menu changes with the seasons. Standouts include smoked beef tartare with cherry-glazed duck liver pâté, hand-rolled pierogi stuffed with pike-perch in beurre blanc, scallops with deer tongue and chestnuts, and a slow-cooked beef rib with horseradish mashed potatoes. The wine list is curated to match.
In 2025, Przystań & Marina received a Michelin recommendation, a testament to the consistency and ambition of the team. It’s a place where the river, the food, and the service come together without fanfare – just a quiet, steady excellence.
