The story
First opened in 1913, Tarasowa has reclaimed its place in the Centennial Hall complex. The design draws directly from the site: mint-grey curtains match the hall’s columns, gold accents echo the dome’s glasswork, and pale terrazzo with green flecks brings the surrounding parkland inside. Deep wood adds warmth. The result is a modernist interior that feels both historic and fresh – a fitting stage for modern Polish cuisine.
The restaurant buzzes with lively evenings, animated conversations, and clinking glasses – much as it did over a century ago. A terrace overlooks the Pergola, giving guests a direct connection to the architecture and nature that define Wrocław’s landmark district.
The team – chefs, managers, sommeliers – shares a passion for food that surprises and tells a story. They explore Wrocław’s gastronomic traditions, translating them into a contemporary language. The menu changes every three months, built on local, seasonal produce. Dishes like sunflower pâté with topinambur and pickled shallot, dry-aged beef entrecote with burnt potatoes and marinated tomatoes, and a clever “bloodless czernina” with goose hearts, dumplings, and marjoram demonstrate this thoughtful approach.
A tasting menu, “Smaki Dawnego Wrocławia” (Flavours of Old Wrocław), guides guests through a curated sequence – from amuse-bouche and house-baked bread to courses named Base, Depth, Softness, and Cold. Priced at 360 PLN and adjusted for product availability, it offers an ambitious yet accessible way to experience the kitchen’s reinterpretation of regional classics.
Tarasowa’s consistent quality and value have earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand award – an endorsement of its mission: confident, well-executed cooking within a setting that honours its heritage. The kitchen draws on local producers and nearby wineries and breweries, keeping the table firmly rooted in Lower Silesia. Whether you come for a single dish or the full tasting journey, Tarasowa delivers a sincere, nuanced take on modern Polish cuisine – alive with history and grounded in the present.
