The story
In Wrocław's Niedźwiedzia street, Warsztat – Food & Garden occupies a former family-owned car repair shop and car wash. The owners, driven by a passion for both automotive and food, transformed the raw, industrial space into a restaurant and bakery. Since opening in June 2015, the place has retained its history: the downstairs kitchen sits in the old repair canals, and the side room, once a car wash, now hosts events and the bakery. The garden, originally planted by the previous owners, supplies vegetables, fruits, and herbs in season. The atmosphere is raw yet welcoming, with the aroma of freshly prepared dishes filling the space.
The kitchen focuses on Polish, local, and seasonal ingredients. A short menu allows attention to quality and freshness. Dishes range from a simple scrambled eggs with their own sourdough bread to a beef tartare with black garlic mayonnaise and porcini mushrooms, or wild duck breast with colorful beets and orange sauce. The bakery bakes sourdough bread and other flour-based specialties daily. The restaurant also offers natural wines and craft beers, and signature non-alcoholic beverages.
Outdoor seating in the garden provides a quiet escape from the city. The same garden feeds the kitchen, closing the loop between soil and plate. This commitment to seasonality and locality, combined with the unique setting, earned Warsztat a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. It is a place where flavor, atmosphere, and nature come together, created by passionate people dedicated to their craft.
