The story
At the Altis Belém Hotel & Spa, overlooking the Tagus River, Feitoria holds a Michelin star for its uncompromising approach to modern cuisine. The restaurant’s philosophy is built on a deep respect for producers and their craft. Every dish on the menu starts with the ingredient itself, letting the quality of the product speak. The result is a tasting experience that goes far beyond a meal—it’s an homage to the land and sea that define Portuguese gastronomy.
Chef André Cruz brings a passionate, personal touch to the kitchen. A self-described nature lover, creative and adventurous, he is known for his hobby of beekeeping—even though he is allergic to bees. This connection to the natural world infuses his cooking. The heart of Feitoria is the Semente (Seed) menu, a rotating selection of tasting menus that respect the rhythm of the seasons. Guests choose between paths like Terra, Raiz, and Folha (Earth, Root, Leaf), each highlighting different textures and flavors. Vegetarian versions are also available, always built around peak-season produce and paired with an interesting wine list.
The Michelin star is a recognition of this exacting, ingredient-driven modern cuisine, but the true reward is the clarity of flavor on the plate—a direct result of the kitchen’s reverence for where food comes from.
