Since 1997, the restaurant at Herdade do Esporão has been an integral part of the estate, opening onto the very landscape that supplies its kitchen. The architecture and décor use local materials, favouring authenticity and comfort. From the terrace, guests look out over the vineyards – a reminder that this is a place where nature leads.

The kitchen earned a Michelin star for 2026, alongside a Michelin Green Star, reflecting a commitment to responsible, product-focused cooking. Every dish follows the rhythm of the seasons, built from ingredients grown in the estate’s organic vegetable gardens or sourced from trusted local and national producers.

The Menu: Simple, Seasonal, and Responsible

The daily menu changes with what is freshest and most vibrant. The approach is a contemporary cuisine that stays true to the Alentejo – comforting, straightforward, and deeply seasonal. Two set menus are offered: Esporão I (€55) includes a starter, two entrées, a main course, and dessert; Esporão II (€65) adds a second main course. Both can be paired with wines from the estate’s own vineyards (€35 or €50) or with non-alcoholic pairings (€18 or €25). A children’s menu (€28) and an à la carte option are also available.

The kitchen adapts to dietary restrictions when informed at booking, ensuring that the focus remains on the quality of the ingredients rather than on rigid formulas.

An Atmosphere of Authentic Comfort

The restaurant is open for lunch, from 12:30 to 15:30, and closed on Sunday and Monday. The relaxed, unhurried setting – with its terrace, outdoor seating, and air conditioning – makes it a destination for those who appreciate fine dining without pretension. The wine list, naturally, draws from the estate’s own production, allowing guests to taste the place in every glass.
