The story
On the terraced slopes of the Douro Valley, where vineyards meet the Tedo river, the Bistro Terrace at Quinta do Tedo has been reborn. Founded by the Bouchard brothers in 2016 to serve guests of the estate’s B&B, the restaurant now carries the name and vision of the Geadas family.
Óscar Geadas and António Geadas are brothers from the Trás-os-Montes region who have been elevating the gastronomy of their homeland on the national and international stage. In 2019, they earned the first Michelin star ever awarded to a restaurant in Trás-os-Montes, with their G Restaurante. Now, at Quinta do Tedo, they bring that same passion to a more relaxed setting.
The heart of the Bistro Terrace is a celebration of good Transmontano products. The kitchen builds on tradition, adding creativity and seasonality to create plates full of flavour. It is a naturalist cuisine where tradition is the main pillar, and the echoes of traditional Portuguese cooking are joined by the freshness of the Mediterranean. Every dish is carefully reimagined with sophistication.
The wine list is equally exceptional. António Geadas, a sommelier and escanção, oversees the pairing of Quinta do Tedo’s own Douro DOC, Port, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil with the food. The menu is divided into starters, main courses (fish, meat, seafood, and vegetarian options), and desserts.
The setting is intimate: 30 indoor seats, plus 20 on the terrace with a phenomenal view over the Tedo River. It is a place where two families and two passions – winemaking and gastronomy – complement each other in perfect harmony.
