The story
At the Mövenpick Hotel Tahlia Jeddah, Rasoi By Vineet brings the vision of Chef Vineet Bhatia to Saudi Arabia. Bhatia, the first Indian chef to earn a Michelin star (2001), is widely regarded as a pioneer of modern progressive Indian cuisine. The restaurant’s name, “Rasoi,” means “kitchen” in Hindi, and the menu is a personal expression of his culinary journey from Mumbai to London and now to Jeddah.
The dining room is elegant and contemporary, an appropriate setting for the refined Indian dishes that emerge from the kitchen. Signature plates include Tandoori lamb chop, Zataar-olive chicken tikka, butter chicken, lamb biryani, and Kaffir lime prawns. The ever-popular samosa chaat also makes an appearance. Desserts are a highlight, with the Gulab Jamun Rose Cheesecake offering a playful twist on a classic.
The Michelin guide has recognized Rasoi By Vineet with a Recommended distinction, a testament to the consistent quality and innovation on offer. The aromas and colors of Indian food are interpreted here with remarkable refinement, balancing complex flavours with elegant presentation. Whether for lunch or dinner, the restaurant delivers a nostalgic connection to India, but with a unique, contemporary twist.
Located conveniently on Hail Street near Jameel Square, the restaurant is ideal for special occasions and memorable gatherings. It is also wheelchair accessible and can accommodate private parties. Rasoi By Vineet is not just a meal; it’s an exploration of Indian cuisine through the eyes of a master chef.
