The story
Vinarija Tarpoš brings Serbian cuisine to the vineyards just outside Aranđelovac, where the concept begins with its very name. The term tarpoš refers to a traditional cap once used to serve grapes to passing travelers. That gesture of generosity now frames a modern dining room designed to feel both grounded and refined. The space opened in its current form after a complete overhaul in 2021, translating an old symbol of welcome into contemporary architecture.
Enologist Jelena Živanović guides the cellar while the kitchen adapts local cuisine for a modern audience. A warm horseradish soufflé introduces the meal, followed by a bacon-wrapped plum preparation. Grilled brizle arrives with a crisp crust and soft center, balanced by tangy pickled onions and charred vegetables. The main course features a tender beefsteak served alongside golden fried potatoes, leaving room for a layered dessert of chocolate mousse, hazelnut cream, and a thin caramel finish.
The property sits at the foot of the Bukulja and Venčac mountains, surrounded by rows of vines that produce the estate’s signature Merlot. An elegantly decorated hall flows onto a terrace that splits toward different angles, giving diners multiple ways to watch the afternoon light shift across the landscape. This careful attention to detail earned a score of fourteen from Gault&Millau, which praised how seamlessly the kitchen connects with the wine program. Guests leave with the impression that the meal was built to linger in memory.
