The story
In the heart of Beijing, at The Peninsula, Jing offers a refined take on modern French cuisine that has earned it a Michelin star. The dining room, with its green jade palette and contemporary art, sets a serene and elegant tone.
Jing’s interior is inspired by nature. Silk-embroidered screens, bronze ginkgo motifs, and custom Chinese garden wallpaper create a tranquil backdrop. Ten striking art pieces punctuate the space, making the experience as visual as it is culinary.
The kitchen blends French technique with Asian-inspired creativity. Signature dishes include the Atlantic Ocean Turbot – baked bone-in with Jerusalem artichoke purée, chips, brown butter sauce, and Puer tea powder. The Green and White Asparagus Tartare features asparagus from Xinyang and Shanxian, paired with sea urchin, a light mousse, and 8 grams of 11-year Oscietra caviar from Sichuan. Other highlights are the Blue Lobster charcoal-grilled with authentic bisque, and the Famous Pâté Croûte with marinated chicken breast and duck liver.
A wine cellar with over 400 labels – including rare Krug champagnes – is served in Austrian Zalto glassware. Guests can opt for a personalized menu at the Chef’s Table or a curated meal in the main dining room. Jing’s hospitality is warm and attentive, rounding out a sophisticated evening.
