The story
Vino&Tapas brings modern Slovak tasting menus to the heritage square of Poprad's Spišská Sobota district. Chef Zuzana Sisáková defines her cooking with the motto traditional taste in modern conception. She applies complex technological processes to familiar flavours, transforming regional ingredients into refined plates. Her kitchen operates as a destination for the international LadyChef series, hosting elite female cooks like Ana Roš and Léa Linster. For five years, Sisáková has been the sole female voice among the twenty top Slovak chefs.
The dining experience centres on tasting menus that guide guests through multiple courses. Options range from three main dishes to an eight-flavour selection, all accompanied by amuse-bouche. A highlight is the Spiš piroh, which reimagines a century-old family recipe through playful textures and contemporary technique. Guests also encounter Sisáková's iconic creations, such as a delicate spinach sponge and a raspberry preparation served within tomato. The chef often visits tables personally to share insights during the evening service.
The room reflects a functional and comfortable aesthetic rather than ostentatious design. Photographs documenting the couple's interactions with world-renowned gastronomic figures line the walls. Petr Sisák manages the service, ensuring the flow remains well-organised and passionate throughout the meal. The atmosphere feels welcoming from the first moment, prioritising genuine hospitality over formality. With limited capacity, the space maintains an intimate scale suited to the focused attention given to every plate.
