The story
In the heart of Seoul, at the Designhouse in Jung-gu, Seoul Dining offers a refined interpretation of what its owner-chef calls "Seoul style food." The restaurant, recognized with a Michelin recommendation, builds its identity on a foundation of French and Italian techniques while staying rooted in the seasonal ingredients and culinary spirit of the city.
Chef Kim Jin-rae brings a broad perspective to the kitchen, having cooked in Korea, the United States, Australia, and Europe. His previous roles as head chef at Congdu, Second Kitchen, and Maison de la Categorie inform his approach at Seoul Dining, where he aims to reinterpret the taste of Seoul in a modern sense and express it in diverse ways. The result is contemporary cuisine that feels both new and comfortably familiar.
The menu is structured to offer two distinct experiences. Lunch presents a 5-course selection, designed for a more accessible yet complete exploration of the kitchen’s style. Dinner evolves into a deeper, slower journey with a 9-course tasting menu. Both options highlight the restaurant's commitment to seasonal ingredients, interpreted with a clear, contemporary sensibility. The atmosphere is one of quiet confidence, allowing the thoughtfully prepared dishes to speak for themselves.
