The story
L’Aliança in Anglès approaches modern cuisine through a lens of seasonal storytelling. Head chef Àlex Carrera arrived at the kitchen in 2018 after training alongside celebrated figures like Andoni Luis Aduriz and the Roca brothers. His tasting menus reinterpret local Girona produce with contemporary techniques while respecting the ingredient’s original essence. This precise culinary direction earned the restaurant a Michelin star in 2019 and two Repsol Suns in 2025.
The dining room occupies a structure originally built in 1900 for the Alianza Agrícola de Anglès cooperative. The Feliu-Martí family managed the ground-floor café bar starting in 1919, making it a local gathering spot for decades. Following family reflections in 2013, the venue transformed into a dedicated restaurant. A former storage loft now operates as a glass-fronted wine cellar, visible to every guest seated below.
Cristina Feliu guides the front-of-house experience with a focus on relaxed professionalism. Her approach blends formal service standards with genuine warmth, ensuring visitors feel immediately comfortable. The dining tables carry the weight of decades of shared meals, while the kitchen continues to push boundaries through carefully curated seasonal cooking. Guests consistently leave with lasting memories of unexpected flavor combinations and attentive pacing.
