The story
In the small coastal village of Agua Amarga, within the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, La Villa offers a contemporary Mediterranean dining experience that has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. The restaurant is the work of chef Emilio Carmona and his team, who build their menu around fresh, local, seasonal produce of outstanding quality.
The kitchen’s philosophy is rooted in respect for each ingredient. The result is balanced dishes that let the essence of the product speak. Beyond the main menu, daily suggestions extend the offering, all paired with a carefully curated, regularly updated wine list. The cuisine is authentically Mediterranean, drawing from both land and sea.
The setting is integral to the experience. The main terrace is surrounded by native vegetation, with the glow of the pool and the breeze from the Mediterranean creating a relaxed, tranquil atmosphere. Inside, the warm Mediterranean decor—textures, colours, and carefully chosen materials—fosters a sense of intimacy and comfort. Live music occasionally accompanies the evening.
La Villa is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch service also available during certain months. The restaurant has also been nominated for The Fork Awards 2022, and holds a Repsol Recommended distinction for 2024.
