The story
In the pedestrian heart of Hervás, just steps from the town’s historic Jewish quarter, Nardi has been a fixture of regional dining since 1980. Founded by a local chef, the restaurant quickly earned a reputation for its grilled meats and traditional Extremaduran recipes. Today, his son José Miguel Sánchez runs the kitchen alongside his wife, Vega Serrano, who leads the front-of-house team. Together they have elevated the restaurant into a recognised gastronomic reference in the area.
The cooking here is rooted in Spanish cuisine, drawing from the rich recetario tradicional extremeño while embracing a lighter, market-driven approach. Guests can expect robust flavours in dishes that balance heritage with a subtle modern touch. The restaurant offers both an à la carte menu and a tasting menu, with the option of wine pairings – a particularly recommended route for those who want to experience the full range.
Nardi has appeared in Spain's most prestigious dining guides since 2005, including Gourmetour, Guía Campsa, and the Michelin Guide. Its Michelin Bib Gourmand (2026) acknowledges good quality, good value cooking – a fitting recognition for a restaurant that delivers serious regional food in an unpretentious setting.
The dining room, renovated in 2005, blends simple, contemporary décor with rustic touches: exposed stone walls and wooden beams. With around 50 seats, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. There is also outdoor seating and a bar area for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and well-located near parking, the tourist office, and local shops.
