The story
La Llorería, on Calle de San Lorenzo in Madrid, is the story of two chefs, Carmen and José, who met while working together in a Madrid restaurant. Their project is built on companionship and a shared desire to keep practicing their craft, hand in hand. Carmen brings experience from kitchens both in Spain and abroad, as well as a talent for managing some of Madrid's most notable restaurants. José has spent over a decade cooking, specializing in research and creativity on both national and international stages. Together, they have created a space that is accessible and free of constraints.
The concept at La Llorería is to break all the canons. The kitchen focuses on seasonality and sustainability, viewed through the lens of technique. The atmosphere is designed for sharing and dialogue in a close, welcoming setting. The team aims to create an environment that invites you to free your mind and enjoy a superior experience. This approach to modern cuisine has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended award, a recognition that speaks to the quality and sincerity of their work.
The restaurant's own words promise that you will "llorarás con nuestra carta" – you'll cry (or laugh) with their menu. The intention is for guests to try everything. With lunch and dinner service from Monday to Friday, and a setting that includes counter dining, outdoor seating, and air conditioning, La Llorería offers a flexible and personal dining experience. It is a place where the food, born from friendship and technique, is the main event.
