The story
La Morena Madrid opened its doors in July 2022, but its story begins four years earlier in the coastal town of Tarifa. Founders Jaime, Javier, and Brayan, all veterans of Madrid's high-end restaurant scene, left the capital to chase a dream by the sea. They built a restaurant that captured the spirit of Tarifa—its sunsets, its relaxed energy, its honest approach to food. When they returned to Madrid, they brought that same spirit with them, settling in the gastronomic neighbourhood of Chamartín on Paseo de la Castellana.
The kitchen here works with a clear philosophy: passion for the product, fused with Latin American and Asian gastronomy. The result is a menu built on local ingredients, treated with techniques that travel across continents. Dishes are fresh and surprising, designed to engage all the senses. The team describes their approach as honest and different—no gimmicks, just bold, well-executed flavours. It is this commitment to quality and originality that has earned La Morena a place in the Michelin guide as a Recommended restaurant.
Step inside La Morena, and you leave Madrid behind. The space aims to replicate that paradisiacal, seaside atmosphere—a feeling of being surrounded by nature and the ocean. It is a place for the small, memorable moments that happen around a table. Whether you sit at the counter, on the outdoor terrace, or book a private event, the team works to make you feel at home. With a wine list that highlights the best of the Madrid region, the experience is complete. La Morena is not just a meal; it is an invitation to share in a passion that travelled from the coast to the city.
