The story
For fifteen years, chef José Carlos García has cooked from his restaurant overlooking the Port of Málaga – a stretch of coast that shaped his approach to food. In 2025, he announced a new chapter: the move to the historic Café de París. Before leaving this emblematic space, he created a farewell menu that gathers the most representative dishes of his career, available exclusively during June, July, and August. It is a tasting of evolution, territory, and the producers who have accompanied him.
García’s cooking is a fusion of traditional Málaga products with avant-garde touches – a style that earned him a Michelin star. His commitment to “producto de cercanía” (local sourcing) is evident: he describes himself as “enamorado del producto local.” The menu changes with the seasons, always rooted in Andalusian culinary traditions but presented with precision and a contemporary eye. The result is a gastronomic experience that feels both familiar and surprising.
Set in Plaza de la Capilla, the restaurant offers a privileged view of the port and the sea. Guests can dine indoors with air conditioning or on the terrace, where Laurent-Perrier champagne sets the tone. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, and the space can host private events. Every detail reflects García’s dedication to his region – from the ingredients to the warm, unhurried service. Whether you come for the farewell menu or a regular tasting, you are tasting Málaga’s best.
