The story
At La Cocina de Cristine, the kitchen is led by Pau Sintes, a young chef from Alaior who was named Best Young Chef of Europe in 2022. Sintes crafts a Mediterranean menu that stays close to the island’s land and sea, using ingredients from local producers and recipes that honour the home cooking of a Menorcan grandmother, but with a refined touch.
The restaurant’s philosophy is simple: source the best local, seasonal produce and let the flavours speak. Starters, mains, and desserts are built around fish, meats, vegetables, and herbs that carry the island’s history – Arabic, British, and French influences mingling with native tastes. The result is a cuisine that feels both familiar and surprising, rooted in territory yet modern in expression.
Located within the Cristine Bedfor hotel in Mahón, La Cocina de Cristine serves breakfast, brunch on weekends, snacks, and dinner. The setting includes a patio for evening meals and the Secret Garden for cocktails, plus private dining and event options. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a focus on making every meal feel like a moment of genuine hospitality.
This commitment to quality and authenticity has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction, recognising its place among the best tables on the island. Whether you come for a dressed-up dinner or a lazy brunch, the cooking here is a direct expression of Menorca’s rich culinary identity.
