It is damp and musty at Hornstull Strand on a dark evening like this, just before Christmas. We make our way to Bio Rio, which lights up the block with its warmly welcoming neon glow. A few years ago, the cinema reclaimed its original 1940s name and was carefully restored. But we aren't here for the movies. Inside the foyer, we quickly turn right and enter the cinema’s adjoining restaurant, which bears the name Riri.
