The story
In the hilltop village of Broc, just outside Bulle, Les Montagnards - Le Sommet occupies a carefully restored 1884 building that reopened in 2019. The gastronomic restaurant, Le Sommet, offers just twenty seats, creating an intimate setting where the focus falls squarely on the plate.
Since January 2026, Chef Alexandre Miquel has taken the reins of the kitchen, bringing his Michelin-starred expertise to the house. His modern cuisine is expressed through a changing menu that follows the seasons. The brasserie next door offers a daily lunch formula based on market arrivals, while Le Sommet presents a full Gastronomic Menu that highlights the chef's refined style.
The dining room blends wood and modern design, with large windows framing views of the Moléson mountain and the Château de Gruyères. A carefully curated wine list, overseen by the head sommelier, accompanies the meal. The restaurant also features a terrace with a pergola for al fresco dining, a cigar lounge with a selection of spirits, and a private dining room for up to twelve guests.
Les Montagnards - Le Sommet holds a Michelin star, a testament to the high quality of cooking and the precision of Chef Miquel's modern cuisine. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, welcoming guests for a full gastronomic experience in the heart of the Gruyère region.
