On a roadside in Pathum Thani, Morakot Kitchen serves Thai food with a personal touch. The restaurant, known in Thai as ครัวมรกต, has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its good quality, good value cooking—a recognition that draws diners from across the region.

The kitchen is run by the owner, who takes orders and cooks each dish himself. This hands-on approach is central to the experience. The atmosphere is casual and family-oriented, a place where the cooking is straightforward and the flavours speak for themselves.

The menu is built around fresh seafood and classic Thai preparations. A standout is the Swatow-style red pork (หมูแดงสูตรซัวเถา), praised for its tenderness and deep, peppery flavour. The deep-fried fish cakes (ทอดมันปลากราย) are another favourite, often ordered as a starter. Green curry with fish balls (เขียวหวานลูกชิ้นปลากราย) and fried river prawns with garlic (กุ้งแม่นํ้าทอดกระเทียม) are also popular choices. For a lighter option, the clear tom yum with sea bass (ต้มยำปลากระพงน้ำใส) delivers a clean, aromatic heat.
