The story
Tucked away in a small alley off Sukhumvit Soi 27, Enoteca is a genuine escape from Bangkok’s business district bustle. The name, meaning “wine library” in Italian, hints at the restaurant’s founding purpose: to promote Italian wine culture alongside simple, well-matched food. Since opening in 2004, this family-run restaurant has evolved into a destination for authentic Italian cuisine, earning a Michelin Recommended distinction in the 2026 guide.
The setting is a converted home with a garden, described by the restaurant as a little oasis. Inside, exposed brickwork, wooden ceilings, and walls lined with hundreds of wine bottles create a warm, romantic atmosphere. The dress code is smart casual.
Enoteca’s kitchen is now led by Chef Federico, a Milanese chef born in 1996 who brings significant pedigree to Bangkok. His experience includes positions at Paul Bocuse in Lyon (2 Michelin stars), JAN in Nice (1 Michelin star), and Le Table de Xavier Mathieu in Joucas (1 Michelin star). His philosophy is one of tradition balanced with innovation, focusing on high-quality, often biodynamic products.
The menu offers a range of options, from an a la carte selection to a weekly-changing degustation menu and an omakase experience. The kitchen works in close dialogue with the cellar, a collaboration that defines Enoteca’s approach to Italian fine dining.
As an enoteca, the wine list is the restaurant’s backbone. It features over 400 labels, with a strong focus on Italian producers both classic and emerging, including organic and biodynamic estates. Enoteca has hosted hundreds of wine dinners since 2004, collaborating with iconic names like Casanova di Neri, Antinori, Ornellaia, Aldo Conterno, and Pio Cesare. Guest chefs with Michelin stars have also been regular collaborators, creating menus designed specifically for wine pairings. This dedication has made Enoteca one of Bangkok’s most respected ambassadors for Italian wine.
